PROJECT GUIDE
A Heart Surrendered is an ongoing global learning project that may be entered at any time. Classrooms need access to the internet and knowledge of basic technological and Web 2.0 tools to collaborate on, or share, their activities.
The following steps are provided to ease participation, however, classroom creativity is encouraged.

​STEP 1

Choose the "topic" on which your class wishes to focus: The Hungry, The Homeless, or The Refugee.

After carefully reading the Trust Monitor Policy, sign-up to Join.

Teachers briefly INTRODUCE your class on the Padlet Forum for your chosen topic and indicate WHY you have chosen this topic. (Note: Password codes for the Padlets will be sent to you when you join.)
STEP 2

Printout and review the RESOURCE page for your chosen topic (The Hungry, The Homeless, or The Refugee).

Teachers share the "introductory video" and/or "book" with your class.

Students respond to the video and/or book on their Padlet Forum. (Note: If a substitute video or book is used, please do not hesitate to comment on those also.)
STEP 3

Teachers lead their class in researching their chosen topic at the local, national, and international levels. Links to helpful research sites and articles can be found on your RESOURCE page.

Students are encouraged to share interesting and helpful information with other classrooms using their Padlet Forum.
STEP 4

Students take part in the "empathy-building activity" on your RESOURCE page.

Students document their participation on their Padlet Forum.
STEP 5

​Classrooms devise their own social action project and take steps to implement it, either independently or in collaboration with an existing social action organization (see your RESOURCE page).
